A little boy is used to having beside him a red balloon, which he always holds close to himself until a storm sweeps them away and apart. Lost and in despair, the little boy encounters Captain Polar. They find their way out of a storm together by following the stairs. The little boy learns that, as long as he does not give up, the red balloon and him will certainly cross paths again.
