Soon, Ro's world will turn upside down, when the adventurous explorer, Prince Antonio, discovers the exotic island and takes Ro along with her furry friends to explore civilisation in the kingdom of Abalonia. Could Ro be Rosella, the missing Island Princess?—Nick Riganas
After a fierce storm, Sagi (Christopher Gaze), a wise red panda, and Azul (Steve Marvel), a flamboyant peacock, stumble upon a surprising discovery: a shipwrecked six-year-old girl on their island and her chest of belongings washed up on shore after a storm. With them is a baby elephant named Tika (Susan Roman), and together, they decide to extend a helping hand to the young girl. As time passes, she gradually learns to communicate with the island's animals, forming a unique bond with them. However, her memory remains a blank canvas, unable to recall anything about her life before the shipwreck, not even her own name-except for the fragment "Ro" from a battered trunk's broken nameplate and a tattered flag adorned with a white rose.
A decade later, the tranquility of the island is disrupted by the arrival of a dashing prince named Antonio (Alessandro Juliani), who stumbles upon Ro's (Kelly Sheridan) sanctuary. Prince Antonio of Apollonia was out exploring the South Seas. Ro demonstrates her bravery by saving Antonio from a perilous encounter with crocodiles, an act that kindles his gratitude and sparks a burgeoning affection between them. Antonio extends an invitation for Ro to accompany him back to his kingdom, Apollonia, hoping to uncover the mysteries of her past. Eager for answers, Ro agrees, on the condition that her animal companions join her. As they sail back to Apollonia, the bond between Ro and Antonio deepens into love.
Upon their return, Ro is introduced to Antonio's family, including his hesitant parents, King Peter (Russell Roberts) and Queen Danielle (Patricia Drake), and his triplet sisters Rita (Britt McKillip), Gina (Carly McKillip), and Sofia (Chantal Strand). While the younger members of the family warm up to Ro and her animal friends quickly, tensions brew within the royal household. While Antonio had been away, Peter had arranged a marriage for him so that he can become king and stop adventuring. He dislikes the "wild island girl" for disrupting his plans.King Peter disapproves of Ro, viewing her as an unsuitable match for his son, and schemes to arrange a marriage between Antonio and Luciana (Candice Nicole), a princess from a neighboring realm.
Unbeknownst to the royal family, Luciana's mother, Queen Ariana (Andrea Martin), harbors dark intentions. Seeking revenge for her family's past grievances, she plots to eliminate Antonio's family and seize control of Apollonia. Unbeknownst to everyone, even her daughter, Ariana and her parents committed treason by attempting to kill Peter and Danielle and were demoted to be swineherds by Peter many years ago. Ariana had married an elderly king in order to become a queen and regain her former status, and now she is seeking a way to enact her revenge on Peter.Despite her reluctance to follow her mother's sinister plans, Luciana finds herself entangled in Ariana's web of deceit. Meanwhile, Ro becomes a target of Ariana's schemes, perceived as a threat to her nefarious ambitions.
As Ro strives to win over Antonio's family, her efforts are consistently thwarted by Ariana's machinations, exacerbating tensions between her and King Peter. Feeling increasingly alienated, Ro contemplates returning to her island sanctuary. However, her love for Antonio and her quest for self-discovery compel her to remain in Apollonia.
In a bid to lift Ro's spirits, her animal companions and Tallulah (Bets Malone), Danielle's pet monkey, assist her in preparing for Antonio and Luciana's engagement celebration. Ro captivates the guests with her elegance, earning reluctant admiration even from King Peter.
When Antonio confesses his love for Ro, she reminds him of his commitment to Luciana. Despite their mutual affection, Ro resolves to honor Antonio's prior engagement. However, a revelation during the festivities-spotting a carriage bearing a familiar insignia-leads Ro to uncover a crucial clue about her past.
Frustrated by his father's relentless pressure to marry Luciana, Antonio makes a bold decision to elope with Ro. Antonio argues with Peter and abdicates the throne to Rita. He leaves a note for Ro, saying he will run away with her. Tika, jealous of Antonio and afraid of losing Ro, overhears and hides the note. Meanwhile, Ariana sends her pet rats to spread "sunset herb" through the kingdom. The poison causes all animals who ingest it to fall into a coma, including Tallulah and Azul. Peter, concluding Ro, Sagi, Azul, and Tika had brought the "disease" to Apollonia, imprisons them.
Desperate to save Ro, Antonio strikes a deal with his father: Ro's freedom in exchange for his marriage to Luciana.
Banished from Apollonia, Ro and her companions set sail towards her island sanctuary. In the middle of the voyage, Tika confesses her role in concealing Antonio's note, prompting Ro to forgive her. A sailor, bribed by Ariana, knocks them all overboard. In the water, Ro suddenly remembers the shipwreck that happened in her childhood and that her real name is Rosella.Miraculously rescued by dolphins, Ro's memory is jolted, recalling snippets of her past and her true name, Rosella.
Returning to Apollonia with the help of dolphins, Ro learns from a little bird that Ariana had put sunset herb in the wedding cake to kill Peter and Antonio. Ro makes an antidote to wake Azul and the other animals but is stopped by guards. Tika disrupts the wedding and gets Antonio to come to Ro's rescue, while Sagi takes the antidote to Tallulah, waking her. When Ro accuses Ariana, no one believes her; until Luciana, remembering her mother had forbidden her to eat anything after the wedding, agrees with and defends Ro. Ariana attempts to flee in a carriage, but is wrecked and flung into a pigsty.
When Ro reveals to Antonio she remembers her full name, one of the wedding guests, Queen Marissa (Kate Fisher) of Paladia, comes forward and says that her daughter, Princess Rosella, had gone overboard in a shipwreck while they were at sea many years ago. Ro's memory returns, realizing she's the long-lost princess of Paladia, and she and Marissa then sing a lullaby from her childhood together, confirming the truth. Peter then begs Ro's forgiveness and thanks her for saving their lives. Ro and Antonio are then married, while Luciana meets a handsome prince at their wedding. Ro and Antonio then sail off to go on new adventures, with Tika, Sagi, Azul, and Tallulah in tow.
