A tragedy set in post-war Germany. A man is unable to find a job. A late returnee (from a prisoner-of-war camp) is unable to find a job. In his desperation, he plans to rob a bank by digging a tunnel together with his younger brother Klaus who fears to loose his girlfriend without having more money. But Klaus finds himself in a deep moral conflict when he realizes that his elder brother sticks at nothing to get into the bank. Now Klaus has to decide whether to follow his false ideals or to leave his brother in the vault to be captured by the police for sure.—Kepheus
