Sacrifice is a way of life for the protagonist of this film, and luck and happiness are always elusive.

Kamal's life has been sheer hell. Right from her childhood to her teens, she has been living with her stepmother and suffering the atrocities meted out to her. But she manages to find solace in the company of her best friend Keshav, the son of the village Patil. Soon their friendship blossoms into love and they begin contemplating to elope but her stepmother learns about this and gets her married off to Guru, an elderly Brahmin. Meanwhile Raosaheb, the black sheep of the village lusts after Kamal, and conspires to trap her some day for his evil intentions.
