As prisoner Ed Archer is being transferred, the stage is attacked and crashes. Archer escapes the attackers but Ranger Rocky Lane catches up with him. As Rocky is bringing him in, Archer is attacked again. Ed Archer, serving a prison sentence on a framed-up charge of murder, escapes from the stagecoach carrying him to a new prison. Texas Ranger "Rocky" Lane has been assigned to bring him in, recaptures him and is proceeding to do so, but they are ambushed by a gang of outlaws that don't want Archer to be able to prove his innocence.
