In "Banat Al Amm," Kholoud, raised by Uncle Nouri with cousin Afaf, faces conflict over differing dreams and values after a young man's arrival, sparking a bitter rivalry.
The events of the series "Banat Al Amm" take place in the present time, where Kholoud lives in her uncle Nouri's house after her father's death, her mother's marriage, and her travel abroad. Kholoud is raised and grows up in the care of her uncle, Hajj Nouri, in the company of her cousin, Afaf, who is similar in age to her and studies with her in the same college. They seem to have the utmost harmony, like sisters, not cousins. The two girls' dreams intersect and differ between Kholoud's boldness, her materialistic nature, and her striving to advance in life and associate with a strong and rich person who will guarantee her the prosperous life she desires, and Afaf's different outlook on life and her belief that a person's true value lies in his success resulting from his personal effort and not resulting from his dependence on others. The intellectual difference between the two girls continues until it turns into a real conflict between them after the sudden appearance of a young man in their lives, after which the exciting and bitter conflict between the cousins begins.
