Balanço Geral is a Brazilian journalism and local journalism format of RecordTV and its broadcasters, each with a different style of presentation and a journalistic focus that varies between police and community journalism, as well as prompts and cadres of strong popular appeal. It originated in 1985 in TV Itapoan of Salvador, Bahia, from a radio program of the same name coming from Radio Sociedade d Bahia, presented by Raimundo Varela.—Gleyson Spadetti
