A police officer Ram (Sunil Shetty), a man of his word. His wife Manthara (Archana Puran Singh) is obsessed with money and neglects her family in pursuit of getting rich quick. She forces Ram to buy a lottery ticket and he obliges. When he goes into a restaurant for a snack, he finds that he has no money to tip the waitress Piya (Priya Gill). He promises her half the money if he ever wins the lottery. And to his surprise, he does!! But Manthara is not about to give up half of this windfall so easily....and as Ram and Piya come closer to each other, they discover a growing attraction....—gavin@[email protected]

Ram (Sunil Shetty) is a honest, soft-spoken, and compassionate police inspector in Bombay, India. One day while having soft drinks at a cafe, he does not have enough change for the waitress, Piya (Priya Gill), and quite embarassed by this, he promises to share the proceeds of a lottery with her if he wins. He does win and publicly announces his promise, and this creates problems with his wife, and child. His wife schemes to get the entire lottery winnings for herself, and launches a vicious tirade against her husband, and also files a suit in the court for the lottery winnings as well as for custody of their child, alleging that her husband has been cruel and abusive towards herself.
