Adam is an unsuccessful writer living in Los Angeles, working as a film critic. He has been depressed ever since his girlfriend broke up with him a year ago, and to make matters worse, has just recently lost his job. Nowadays, he lives day to day, desperately waiting for a miracle that will turn his life around. One day he receives an unexpected visit from his ex-roommate from college, Tom, an egocentric womanizer who lives in Belgium.
