After serving as a knight in Germany, Axel returns to the court in Nidaros, where he wants marry his beloved Valborg and become an armourer for the king. The King, however, also desires Valborg, and the church goes against the connection as Axel and Valborg are related. TV adaptation of Oehlenschläger's 1810 tragedy.
