"Aweful Movies with Deadly Earnest" was a hosted horror movie show with Shane Porteous as "Deadly Earnest"; screening on Tuesday nights on TVQ-0 Brisbane between 14 March 1967 until 13 February 1968.

Since 1959 various regional TV stations across Australia produced their own version of "Aweful Movies with Deadly Earnest". TVQ-0 Brisbane produced their version between 1967-1968 with Shane Porteous as "Deadly Earnest". When Porteous left for Sydney in 1968, the show change to "Frightful Movie" with John Dommett as "Professor Macabre"; screening on Tuesday nights between 20 February 1968 until 18 June 1968.—The Professor
