An overworked scientist needs to take a weekend off work, so she and her husband head to their farm, but something isn't quite right.

Set in the not-so-distant future, Dr. Jennifer Ashgrove - one of the world's top scientists - is battling to find a cure to a crisis that affects the world's water supply. As the weight of the world takes its toll, she retreats to the countryside with her husband in a bid to clear her mind. But their relationship is strained, and they soon realize that their ability to save their marriage will literally determine the fate of humankind itself.—Anonymous

A virus has infected the global water supply, sixty million people who have already died in the pandemic with the prediction, at current rates, that the human race will be wiped out in five years, factoring known mitigation strategies which balances the need to hydrate against limiting water consumption to decrease the toxin build-up. Dr. Jennifer Ashgrove leads what is considered the most promising research to find a solution to end the pandemic. Jennifer awakens to find someone she doesn't know, Dr. Lakeland, standing over her, the doctor called in by her husband Jason as she has suffered what she learns is only the latest stress induced blackout. Dr. Lakeland recommends that Jennifer take only a short weekend respite away from work, to which Jennifer reluctantly agrees. Jennifer and Jason will spend the weekend at the farm long held by her family, with her colleague Elliot and Elliot's pregnant wife Sam invited for a dinner, one of the stipulations in Jennifer agreeing to the weekend away. The weekend shows cracks in Jennifer and Jason's marriage largely due to they spending much time away from each other because of her work. As the weekend progresses, Jennifer comes to believe that there is something bigger going on that Jason is not telling her.—Huggo
