Little Swiss girl Annette's relationship with her best friend Lucien hits the rocks when he is accused of hurting her brother.

An animated adaptation of the novel "Treasures of the Snow" (1950) by Patricia St. John. The setting is the Swiss mountain village of Rossinière in the canton of Vaud. Following the death of her mother in childbirth, the little girl Annette Burnier is tasked with raising her little brother Dani. Annette is a nerdy girl who gets the top grades in her class. Her classmate Lucien Morel is an inept student who is frustrated with his failing grades. One day, Lucien accidentally throws Annette into a ditch full of snow. Due to his resentment of her success, he declines to help her out of the snow. He is subsequently ostracized by his classmates for his supposed cruelty. The lonely boy takes out his anger on Dani, but he is genuinely shocked when his actions cause an accident which seriously injures the younger boy. Burdened with guilt, Lucien tries to repair his relationship with Annette. The problem is that the girl deeply resents and distrusts him.—Dimos I
