A man reviews the heartbreaks that he experienced in his lifetime including torture by the Japanese colonial police, the death of his son in the Korean War, his second son's emigration to the US, and the discovery that he has stomach cancer (the leading cause of death in Korea). His life is meant to depict an Everyman quality portraying experiences shared by Koreans in the first 3/4 of the 1900's.—Anonymous
