A writer becomes the main character in the story he intended to write

Évora, 1950. Alberto is a young teacher recently placed in the High School. Évora is an unwelcoming rural town, closed in itself where Alberto intends to reinvent himself as a lonesome writer. Alberto is seduced by Sofia, one of the three daughters of a local doctor. During his classes, he tests his existential convictions by captivating a pupil, Carolino. When Sofia unexpectedly leaves him for Carolino, Alberto loses himself to a passion turmoil and to his own extreme convictions.
