Synopsis

A truthful look at foster care through the eyes of the children.

Annie Was A Liar! The Truth About Being in Foster Care, exposes the good and the bad within the system by way of testimonies from a highly respected PhD and other people with experience in the field. Most importantly, unscripted testimonies will be presented from foster kids, old and new.

We need to change the system, and the only way to do that is to create REAL awareness. The ones who are suffering from bureaucracy are the kids. The real suffering happens AFTER they age out... if they are in a bad home(s).

This film is slated to hit every foster care outlet throughout the country. Potential and current foster parents will see this film and be enlightened so that they can be made aware of how we really feel. They will see how they can play a part in change and legislation that effects us after we age out. It will bring to light some resources that are free to us which very few people know about. This documentary poses the questions: How does rejection play a major role in connecting with foster or adoptive parents? Why do we sometimes have relationship problems?

Annie Was A Liar! reinforces the importance of the initial meeting between child and foster parent. The parent figure needs to have true understanding of what it is to love us, unconditionally, and what it will take to become an effective foster and/or adoptive parent.
