In this film, The Queensville players bring the classic story of orphan Anne Shirley to the stage for their production of "Anne of Green Gables". "Anne of Green Gables" is a timeless Canadian story written by L.M. Montgomery about a young orphan called Anne Shirley, who is sent to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert at Green Gables in Avonlea after a miscommunication between the Cuthberts and the orphanage. In Avonlea, Anne can finally have a normal life after facing so much hardship. She meets many kindred spirits such as her best friend Diana Barry and even one who she dislikes at first, Gilbert Blythe. The Cuthberts may have sent for a boy, but they soon find out that Anne is just what they never knew they needed.—anonymous
