The tragic story of a woman who divorces her rich husband after the intrigues of her mother-in-law.

Eleni, an honest but impecunious orphaned woman, works her fingers to the bone at the orphanage to make ends meet and to support her younger brother, Antonis: her only family. Before long, beautiful Eleni catches the eye of Dimis, a brilliant medical student and son of the institution's director, and as one thing leads to another, falls in love with her. However, their affair doesn't sit well with Dimis' haughty parents, and especially his cruel mother, who goes as far as to intimidate Eleni and force her to do something against her will. But, with Dimis abroad to study, Eleni has no one to turn to, and all hope seems lost. Then, tragedy strikes. Is there a future for the angels without wings?—Nick Riganas
