Balakrishnan, a teacher, falls in love with his colleague, Nirmala, and accompanies her in a visit to her native place to express his feelings. However, they face unexpected events during the journey.

Balakrishnan is a history teacher working in an elementary school in a hillside village. Nirmala has been newly recruited in the temporary post of a music teacher in the same school. Balakrishnan eventually falls in love with her but his timid nature doesn't allow him to express his feelings. So in order to get close to her, he decides to accompany her to her native village.
