La Restinga is located in the principal Peruvian Amazonic city, Iquitos. It is an association that works supporting endangered children and teenagers, such as street working children. Their saint is the Shoebox's Jesus Child, represented as a shoebox kid. One important work of La Restinga is to organize the children in order them to produce videos and reports. En Iquitos, ciudad principal de la Amazonía Peruana, funciona La Restinga, una asociación que trabaja apoyando a niños y adolescentes en situaciones de riesgo, como trabajadores callejeros. Su patrono es el Niño Jesús de la Caja, representado tal como vemos en su procesión- por un niño lustrabotas. Parte de las tareas formativas de La Restinga son encargos de reportajes y videos a los chicos. En Amazónico Soy se sigue a estos chicos y se presenta sus personajes reporteados: Un inválido que se gana la vida bailando en las calles de la ciudad, los integrantes de un equipo de fulbito gay, la célebre Orquesta Explosión, Huerequeque, actor en el film Fitzcarraldo el cineasta alemán Werner Herzog, el narrador de historias y leyendas conocido como El Llullampero, los pintores de la Amazonía.
