Over the course of one night, two African-American families convene to celebrate the engagement of their eldest sons. After the celebration takes an unexpectedly macabre turn, the night descends into one of deceit, blood, and betrayal.

Alexis Sutton is a young Black screenwriter grappling with a bad case of writer's block. She's trying to find inspiration anywhere but her own life, which in her eyes is far from the most exciting topic. When her brother Darius returns home from college, he announces that he's engaged to his longtime boyfriend Jodie Fuchs--whom he hasn't even introduced to his family. What better way to celebrate than a party? The perfect opportunity for the families to meet, mingle, and get acquainted with their soon-to-be familia.
