Fifteen years have passed since the deep-space freighter Nostromo disappeared with all hands. Representatives from the Weyland-Yutani Corporation approach Amanda Ripley with news that the Nostromo's flight recorder has finally been found and brought to the space station Sevastopol.—IGN

In search of answers regarding the disappearance of her mother, Ellen, after the incident on the M-Class commercial towing vehicle, USCSS Nostromo, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation engineer, Amanda Ripley, finally receives good news. In high hopes of finding out what happened to her fifteen years previously, Amanda travels to Sevastopol Station, a deep-space base in orbit of the massive gas-planet, KG-348, along with her colleagues, Christopher Samuels and Nina Taylor, to recover the crucial flight recorder unit of Ellen's ship. However, once there, disaster strikes, as the station seems infested with a multitude of an invincible extraterrestrial species.
