The story of German architect Albert Speer, who became one of Hitler's closest allies.

Albert Speer became the set designer for the Hitler cult and the dream and recreation of Germania. He realized early the importance of large scale, the symbols, and mythologizing the leader and his framing. The architect also became an ideologue, visionary and inventor. Hitler saw in Speer the devotion, will and need for a father figure and made him Minister of Armor, had him procure not only stone for the monuments but also new war material with the help of 20 million prisoners of war and concentration camp inmates.—Ulf Kjell Gür
