A year in the life of British playwright Alan Bennett as he's finishing the latest tome of his diaries for his publisher.

Documentary following Bennett over the course of year as he publishes his latest volume of diaries. Features a trip to New York to receive an award from the city's public library, a national radio appearance and a visit to his local community-run library in Primrose Hill, London. Bennett candidly reflects on key periods of his life as well as providing observations on current events.—Greg Newman
