A poor young man accidentally becomes the master of a wish-granting genie. A colorful tale of magic and love.

The Maghribite sorcerer follows instructions read from the sky that the key to finding the magical jinn-lamp is one Aladdin, nerdy son of Ali-al-Maruf in Bagdad. There he must first save the same from mandatory decapitation for obeying the whimsical princess Budhur's orders to look at her, which instantly gets him madly besotted. The dark sorcerer, posing an nonexistent uncle, takes Aladdin to the hidden sunk city to retrieve the lamp, but loses track by trying too soon to kill Aladdin, who gets three wishes and the sympathy of the jinn (genie), looses the lamp and is imprisoned by the sultan's guards, but the lamp liberates him by proxy. The princess tricks the sultan into a wedding, but moodily turns on her groom in process. The sorcerer seizes the opportunity, but gets outsmarted.—KGF Vissers
