A very beautiful woman from Plaka, dazzled by the glamorous nightlife of Athens, spends one carnival night to voluptuous and sinful adventures.

In the quiet, late-1930s Athenian suburb of Plaka, kind and graceful Agnoula is forced to run away from home, after a bitter quarrel with her parents. But life is hard out there, and as one thing leads to another, innocent Agnoula will soon have no other choice but to live a life of crime and misery as the singer of a seedy cabaret. Then, unexpectedly, Agnoula lands a job at the mansion of the affluent and lewd Aristos Vergidis, and before long, she falls in love with his handsome son, Tony. Now, she is carrying a fatherless child, and once more, as oblivious Tony is sent abroad, poor Agnoula is dragged into a life of suffering. Will Tony ever find out Agnoula's secret?—Nick Riganas
