An ordinary family's life is interrupted by a series of unexpected events involving a love triangle and a crazed fugitive.

A young high school teacher named Harris Locke makes a life changing mistake. He is unfaithful to his wife, Carolyn, and in turn she asks for a divorce. While in a depressive state of mind and trying to mend his crumbling family, he becomes an unexpected witness to a murder by a mentally unstable man named Patrick. Patrick is caught up in a vicious love triangle which resulted in the murder. Two rookie detectives, Marshall and Holmer, make the murder case their number one priority which affects their personal lives. Meanwhile Patrick evades the detectives and decides the only way to be totally free of potential prison time is to get rid of Harris and anyone else he's involved with.
