Summaries

BBC1's flagship social affairs and consumer advice series was begun in 1986 by presenter Margo McDonald, joined later by Hugh Scully and Helen Madden. In 1992 Andrew Miller joined Helen and the series was screened on the BBC2 daytime schedule and repeated on BBC1 at night. Personal finance journalist Paul Lewis contributed weekly advice to the series filmed at BBC Television Centre. Advice Shop's final series was filmed at roadshows around the UK with Helen and Andrew being joined by celebrity guests, it was produced by Hawkshead Productions and concluded in 1994.—Andrew Miller
