After his release from prison, Stathis visits a private investigator whom he had assigned many years ago to find his mother, who has been missing from the time of the German Occupation.
Not knowing what to expect, Stathis Kougias, an unscrupulous professional swindler, eventually reunites with his old gang after an eye-opening, two-year stint in jail. With his enthusiastic partners-in-crime eager to pick up where they left off, stone-faced Stathis gets to work, only to realise that something gets in the way of happiness. However, as ruthless, power-hungry Michalis, Stathis' right-hand man, is waiting for the taciturn leader to slip up, the question remains: what happens if Stathis gets too close to the ugly truth?—Nick Riganas
