Abstractions is a abstract and non-narrative sequence of audiovisual electroacoustic compositions made from digital pictures and video. The work is a suite of animated paintings. "Life" is instilled in these still images by motion, animation, layered images and music. The music is a hybrid between experimental electronic music, ambient, minimalist, repetitive and concrete. The work reflects a questioning on the stakes of this synergistic and synaesthetic art, time, space, movement, light and intensity. Reflection is also made about the meaning and reception of such work, both at the cognitive and esthetic level.
