Summaries

For over two decades Northern Uganda experienced a war that displaced over two million people. The Lord's Resistance Army, a rebel group, killed, tortured and maimed civilians. They forcefully abducted an estimated 35,000 children and terrorized them into being soldiers and sex slaves. Their childhood spent in the bush; tortured and traumatized; innocence stolen by being forced to commit atrocities against their own; families killed or disfigured, hope was something to hope for. The lucky ones escaped, most of them having matured in the bush. Having been to the depths of anguish and back, what more was there to live for? This documentary captures personal stories of individuals whose lives were interrupted by war, and what means they use to battle the war.—Anonymous
