Summaries

Onuora Abuah travels to Mali, West Africa where he begins an 800km journey to the ancient city of Timbuktu whilst orating the 1000 year history of the combined empires of Wagadu (Ghana), Mali and Songhai. His first stop is the ancient trading city of Djenne, where he visits the Great Mosque and studies its manuscripts. Whilst in Timbuktu, he visits the famous Universityof Sankore and Djinguereber whilst establishing Timbuktu's significance to the its medieval empires. Upon his return to Bamako, Onuora visits the residence of Ivorian Reggae artist Tiken Jah Fakoly.—AEA Films Ltd
