A writer abandons her life and husband and wanders the streets of a deserted city in search of herself.

Up against a profound existential crisis, and a persistent writer's block, the young and troubled authoress, Martha, depends on alcohol to seek inspiration. Fearing the worst, Martha holes up in her modernist apartment, grappling with depression and the pale memories of her past, toying with the idea of hurting herself.
