Perpetually misunderstood, Pelopidas, an incurable romantic and impecunious waiter, leads a solitary, hand-to-mouth existence. One day, he answers the phone and becomes enchanted by the soft, melodious voice of sweet Dora: an unknown well-off young woman who claims to be in love with him and wants to arrange an innocent rendezvous.
