This movie was based on Quintin Reynolds' lawsuit against Westbrook Pegler. Pegler was a character assassin of the first order. Pegler claimed that Reynolds was a Communist and a coward. Reynolds defended himself, sued, and won big. Reynolds was exonerated and continued writing. Pegler, like most other people like him, eventually imploded.—W. Giegerich null
