Count Sandor Vajk casts off a former lover, Olga Komarowska, who dies. Joe Selfridge, a magician, sets out to avenge the dead girl. He employs hypnotism, illusions and Vera, the sister of the dead girl, in an effort to punish Vajk, and gain retribution for the death of Olka.
