Arthur Campbell is considered one of Europe's best virologists, a specialist when it comes to discovering and fighting new and potentially dangerous viruses. A big Swiss pharmaceutical company hires him to create a universal vaccine that can hinder known and unknown viruses from attacking the human body. To accomplish this, he has 24 months to create an especially aggressive virus in his lab that unites several specific characteristics of known viruses as well as to fight and destroy it with a universal vaccine. One year later, February 24th, 2022. The war in Ukraine changes the company's strategy. Campbell is now being forced to deliver virus and vaccine within three months - a nearly impossible undertaking. Campbell tries to fight the new plan, but has to find out that his employers don't just have all the leverage, but are also willing to use violence and blackmail to achieve their means. Too late he realizes the perfidy of the plan: to test the virus and the vaccine on a defenceless population whose country is fighting for its right to exist.
