The 2018 Vidya Gaem Awards become a "tournament-style" competition with the presenters having a quip for each award, as well as some words to say for the winner too. After the intermission, the show is fictitiously "acquired" by Tencent Holdings Limited and transforms into a mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party. Once the jig is up, the hosts are barricaded by Tencent's army and the last three awards are presented in usual fashion.
