Summaries

In this satirical comedy, a zany nobleman navigates through family feuds and clashes with peasants in his quest to become Poland's most famous figure.

It's 1670. Jan, head of a noble family and owner of (smaller) half of the village of Adamczycha, dreams of subscribing to the pages of Polish history, the most powerful country in the world. The band of his life successes makes him think he is on the right track. In the end, he inherited everything he had, and achieved all the rest with the hard work of his own peasants. His ambitious plans, however, are disturbed by the difficult everyday life of the landowner: on the regional council, the idea of raising taxes must be vetoed again, the peasants unconvinced with the theory of dripping lose motivation to work, the daughter opposes the release of the magnate for her son, and the crafty neighbor Andrzej is plotting how to harvest larger crops this year... In addition, the Noble Republic is maliciously just now falling into decline. Fortunately, providence is always on the Polish side, and John's progressive thinking will allow him to get out of every situation and reach for eternal glory!.
