Synopsis

150 Years: Canada Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow is a journey through the past 150 years - and more - of Canada's history. It begins with three teens. Edward, Lisa and Susan, idly walking in the woods trading thoughts, when Susan becomes separated from the others. WhileEdward and Lisa search for their friend, they come to a pond where a native elder and his granddaughter are fishing. After being given words of wisdom from the Elder, the two resume their search and find the "portal" that Susan had entered moments before!

The portal transports them back in time, before confederation of Canada in 1867, and their journey begins. They encounter Father Time, a magician and storyteller who is both the keeper of the clock and the narrator.

Told through song, dance, drama, visual tapestry and visual art, we are witness to a series of historical vignettes. As the story continues to unfold, we are presented with competing fur traders before Confederation, and the story continues through the establishment of the Metis Settlement in St. Paul, and to the influx of European immigrants that homesteaded in the area. On to the World wars, oil exploration and finally, the return of the teens to their present situation - just in time for the birthday party they had been so anxious to attend.

Finally, we see a Canada 50 years in the future, the teens having matured and reuniting in a remembrance of their youth and a celebration of ourcountry, Canada. The show ends with a "college of faces" that comprise the mosaic of Canada's identity, looking to the future with hope while always remembering the footsteps of the past.
