Sculptor Dawid Louw is commissioned to create a statue in honour of the women and children who died in a British concentration camp during the Anglo-Boer War. He uses the young, unmarried mother Jeannie Moolman as his model, which enrages the unforgiving community leaders of Hoffmansdal who had her ostracized.
