Facilísimo aired on KWHY-TV Channel 22, Los Angeles, CA. Game-show with a different guest band every day. Filmed before a live studio audience. People at home would dial in for a chance to win great prizes by answering easy questions.
¡Facilísimo! was a daily, variety game-show that aired live, Mondays through Fridays, from 6-7PM on KWHY-TV Channel 22, Los Angeles, California, from 1995 through 1997, hosted by Gianela Segura and Rodrigo Obregón.
People watching at home would dial in and get the chance at speaking with the hosts and answering very easy questions, that's where the name 'Facilísimo' comes from, for gifts like flat television sets, microwave ovens, blenders, refrigerators, and many other items.
There was a live guest band that also played as part of the game-show with a different band playing every day with the likes of La Sonora Santanera, Los Tucanes d' Tijuana, and many other famous orchestras.
The show was always filmed before a live studio audience, and managing the guests was always a challenge. Plus the fact that we had a sign in the studio that would light up when people were supposed to clap! Everyone had to applaud on cue.
Gianela and Rodrigo, the hosts, always brought a certain spark to the television set. Gianela, who is from Central America, identified well with all of her viewers, and Rodrigo, coming from Colombia, also had an outgoing personality that made the ladies go wild. He was the 'hunk' prototype, and women would tune in just to watch him and maybe get a chance to speak with him live on television.
The show had one of the highest ratings for that time slot. It was a very fun television program with the audience participating from home.
The show was shot at the KWHY-TV Channel 22 Studios on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood with a crew of about 20, including the Director, Frank Bedoya and Producer, Freddy Espinoza (RIP), among production staff and camera crew.
Pre production usually took place from early morning all the way to the time of the show, and was usually handled in one day, not including all the previous calls in order to book the different bands. And they were good bands, too. They would bring their instruments along and we would do a sound-check prior plus sound mixing and production during the show.
