Desperadoes

Egon Vittori (Janko Mandic) is thirteen years old and does not have a record player. It is the beginning of the seventies and Yugoslavia seems to be the land of prosperity. Goods are being imported from the West, and these include American music, films and fashion. Everybody but Egon owns a record player. Finding his path among his family members, hippie owners of music records, schoolmates, teachers, communists and dissidents. Egon gets his record player in the end. And grows up somewhere along the way.

The nice householder Lauritz fights for the day and the road - especially for the sake of his granddaughter Adda and the orphanage children Pelle and Ole. When Lauritz injures his back, just as the harvest is approaching, the situation is threatening. And it gets worse when the evil manager at Bakkegården decides to recover an old debt.

In a backroad restaurant, a few customers are getting bored. To avoid falling asleep, they start telling 3 tales to each other.

One night, as pub owner Sotaro is caring for his sick wife, Shizuko, she asks him to promise that if she dies, he will never remarry. Thinking she is just being dramatic, he promises and tells her to go to sleep. When he wakes the next morning, however, Shizuko is dead. Sotaro keeps his promise, until one day he meets Satoko. The two quickly fall in love, and agree to get married. Their first night together, however, is interrupted by Shizuko, who is angry over her husband's broken promise. Sotaro and Satoko must find some way of appeasing the spirit before she drives them from their home.
