Borrowing Blockbusters

This program has been conceived by ABC network to provide several anticipations about its upcoming season of programs. 14 ABC stars have taken part to this variety show, composed by dialogues, music, dancing, songs, and above all by magic. In fact the program was conducted by a 21 year old illusionist, David Seth Kotkin, whose stage name is David Copperfield, who made his "official" debut on television in this occasion, after a first appearance in Magic at the Roxy (1976). The official title of this program, "the magic of abc", is shown in the screen of the television set used as a prop in the first illusion, called "TV Appearance From Empty Box". The other illusions performed are: "Card Productions", "Production Of Hal Linden", "Psycho Shower Scene", "Levitating TV Antenna", "David Cut In Half Lengthwise", "Backstage With The Magician", "Maltese Canary, Lemon, Egg" and "Sailor Scene". By its nature, this program has been conceived for airing only once and on ABC network only, so it was never reaired, or officially redistribuited in home video. However, it has been so successful that it convinced the producer Joseph Cates to put Copperfield under contract to produce for CBS network an annual series of specials called "The Magic of David Copperfield", the first of which has been broadcasted the following year, on Friday, October 27th.

The Mráz family is preparing for holidays. Parents are traveling to the spa and little Petr is going to the country to his grandparents. In addition, to the chaotic preparations, mother's friend is bringing a dog Blek. She wants Petr to look after it. Grandfather welcomes Petr and the dog with pleasure because he needs the ally against strict grandmother. Grandfather is not very skillful and thus grandmother often experiences troubles with his ideas.

Amy and Scott, short on money and talent, hatch a desperate scheme to commit the perfect murder. As they toggle between colorful fantasies and hopeful delusions, the kids discover their plot to commit murder most foul. The ineptitude of the adults is no match for the kids' covert operations, culminating in a hysterical comeuppance in the final scene. This uniquely entertaining family film is a treat for the eye, featuring a plethora of richly textured one-liners, clever malapropisms and wild costumes from the fantastical world of Writer's Cramp,

Three odd-ball seniors are charged with the difficult challenge of bringing school spirit and unity back to their high school. After considering all the usual methods, they finally come up with the idea of creating a men's dance/drill team. They employ every possible means to recruit members; they shop the stomps, hold auditions, pay, beg, and blackmail until they finally pull together an intrepid group of misfits willing to call themselves Unitards. The students love the fun, but the coach of the award winning girl's drill team is bent on getting rid of them. She makes a plan for their demise and succeeds--the Unitards are finished. But the boys make their own plan, take over the school, and catch the girl's coach in her own snare.

The church is going under because of negative allegations being brought up about the pastor, also haven't been paying their taxes. The Pastor's estranged sons to come together with the congregation to help save the church before Christmas.
