Anousha, pushing thirty and longing for love spots Raj, an attractive Indian bank teller one day and decides to make him hers. Using the only tool at her disposal, the online Star column, which she writes, and some bad advice from her gay best friend and commitment phobe Jay, Anousha engineers a date with Raj.

A jobless gay actor is offered the dream role of a lifetime in a feature film, but he must play an elderly drag. He will be forced to overcome his fears and prejudices to understand better himself and the others.

Kitty Shayne, a cut-up who is the life of every party she attends, discovers that the men in her life invariably pass her up in order to marry timid and retiring girls. Kitty then goes to live with an aunt in a distant town, assuming there the role of a modest young woman in order to find herself a husband. She soon meets and falls in love with Russell Baldwin, a proper young man who hates jazz babies. When she and Russell become engaged, Mrs. Baldwin gives a party to celebrate the occasion, but the affair is a dull one until Kitty risks her romance to save her future mother-in-law from the heartbreak of social embarrassment; Kitty once again becomes the life of the party, and Mrs. Baldwin's gathering becomes an instant success. Russell is disgusted with Kitty until she explains that she became gay only to please his mother. Russell and Kitty are reconciled.

Lori is a writer of popular, some would say uninspired, music even if her glory days are all behind her. When a group of grunged out youngsters move in next door, Lori tries her best to be polite even when they are not. However, she makes friends with one of the guys in the group who is quite sweet but, when he tries to move too fast Lori turns him down and things take a sudden nasty turn that disrupts her quiet life and sparks a minor neighbourhood conflict.
