Bart Got a Room

The year is 1983 and Yaakov Cohen, the owner of a Jerusalem printing press, is tired from being pushed around. It seems that he was born on the wrong side, with the wrong family name and in a moment's decision he decides to establish a Sephardic-ultra-Orthodox list that will run to the Jerusalem municipality. He gathers two friends, and together they improvise a campaign - no means, no connections, no money, but with much rage, passion and a sense of justice.

While walking in a garden of statues of women, Ester and her friend Adele see two women kissing. Ester then dreams of kissing Adele and later imagines making love to her while she is in her husband Oscar's arms. She confesses her passion to Adele and tells Oscar she loves another. His jealousy takes over: he assumes it's a man and begs Adele to help him discover his rival's identity. Eventually Ester tells him she loves a woman. This makes him even less reasonable: he jumps between bewilderment ("Am I a cuckold?") and violent anger. After he gets drunk and figures out that Adele is the object of Ester's unconsummated desire, he becomes dangerous.

Distant relatives showed up at the home of Kostya, an intelligent IT specialist from the capital. The Shmakov family. They hadn't seen each other for twenty years, hadn't even called each other. The Shmakovs came from the Urals to film a TV show about the country's talents, but lost their money and documents at the train station. Kostya lets his relatives spend the night in his luxurious country house, but time passes, and the Shmakovs have no intention of moving out. Kostya's ideal life is gradually falling apart, and he has to face his greatest fears in order to protect himself and his family.
