Ivan Trofimov is a rider at the Moscow Hippodrome. His experience has exceeded two decades, but recently failures have followed one after another. He decides to leave the hippodrome and returns to his native village.

Russell is disgusted with Kitty until she explains that she became gay only to please his mother. Russell and Kitty are reconciled.
