Summary Did you know that Mosel Riesling wines were the most expensive wines in the world in the 19th century? Even more expensive than Burgundy and Bordeaux. Today, theses white wines belong again to the most gastronomic wines in the world, but at a much lower and more affordable price than in the 19th century. This was quite unexpected, given the reputation of German/Austrian cuisine which is known for its kneudel, schnitzel and bratwurst.
