Lina lives a very ordinary life: husband Boris and daughter Nastya, work as a French teacher at a prestigious gymnasium. True, Boris is obsessed with the idea of organizing his own business. Lina's salary and part-time work are barely enough to pay off the loans taken by Boris. Soon the situation gets out of control: Boris leaves the family; Lina is fired from the gymnasium due to a conflict with the influential father of one of the students; Collectors appear on the threshold of her apartment - they cannot find Boris, so they shake off debts from his wife. Lina has to get a job as a housekeeper for the wealthy Karavaev family in order to stay afloat. However, challenges await her here too.

Meera and Abhishek are trying to run away from the institution of marriage but eventually end up in one on their own terms and conditions - making it a marriage of convenience.
