THE LADY WARRIOR is a historical comedy tale, equally faithful to the facts as unfaithful to the forms. A small blockbuster in the line of the legendary "The Princess Bride" with its castle, its villain and the mistress lady of the castle.
During the 60's and 70's military dictatorship in Brazil, comedians - originated from different social classes and midia - try to balance their massive popularity with the persecution and censorship of the official regime, being able to respond to fear with laugh.
The film describes in a surreal way the dynamics of the acquisition of power in the various historical periods.
